For this senior thesis project, I was tasked with designing a visual identity for a proposed high-speed rail line connecting Atlanta, Birmingham, and New Orleans. I began with a logo and expanded it into a full brand experience built on motion, elegance, and cultural memory.

Inspired by the spirit of the 1920s—an era defined by speed, progress, and Art Deco refinement—I developed DEKO, a name derived from “Deco” but spelled with a “K” to signal a fresh, modern twist. The identity pays homage to the past while looking forward: clean geometry, rich materials, and expressive, fluid forms combine to create a system that feels both timeless and contemporary.

The letter “D” became a central design element—its curves echoing the sleek forms of 1920s radios and architectural meshwork. I explored this motif extensively in early sketches and refined it into a mark that suggests movement, connection, and forward momentum.

Posters, app UI, and promotional materials were designed to bring the system to life. Each touchpoint was an opportunity to reflect DEKO’s core values: simplicity, elegance, and the promise of a beautifully designed journey.
